Examples of oxidising chemicals include: hydrogen peroxide, magnesium nitrate, potassium nitrate, and calcium hypochlorite.  The cabinets are manufactured in Australia to ensure they meet the requirements of  AS4326-2008.

Features of our range of oxidising agent safety cabinets include; self-closing doors and, built in vents with flash arrestors, spill containment sump with drain and a yellow gloss lead-free epoxy/polyester powder-coat finish.

With sizes ranging from 30L (ideal for placing on or under work benches), to 250L capacity, we have the safety cabinets to meet your requirements.

Indoor Oxidising Agent Storage

Description

Oxidising agents are substances that can oxidise other substances or compounds. It has the ability to remove or separate hydrogen from another substance or compound. Examples of these oxidising agents include halogens, potassium nitrate, nitric acid, and organic peroxide, to name a few.

Oxidising Agents are classified as by themselves not combustible, but it can cause other substances to lose electrons, and by yielding oxygen, it may cause or contribute to combustion.

A reaction may occur when the agent is exposed to heat sources, or it may happen spontaneously. This process will then potentially cause fires, hence, the need for a chemical storage cabinet. In this instance, a dedicated indoor oxidising agent storage is needed to safely store oxidants.

Failure to use the appropriate storage of oxidants may cause an oxidation reaction. This reaction produces heat, gas, and often it can ignite into flames. Spontaneous combustion present a danger not only to your property and personnel, but it can also impact the environment in the immediate area where these reactions occur.

The consequences that can result from such fires due to unsafe storage or negligence can range from property and equipment damage, environmental damage. People can get third-degree burns, or even possibly, death.

Accidents such as these can incur a high cost. Further, exposure by your personnel to such oxidising agents can be toxic if ingested, inhaled, or come into contact with skin and eyes. Furthermore, there are some oxidising agents that are also corrosive, which means they can damage metal, stone, and human flesh.

Class 5.1 Substances are required by law to comply with AS4326-2008, or The Storage and Handling of Oxidising Agents. Australian businesses using this substance must store these substances in fully compliant storage cabinets to prevent accidents from ever happening.

These standards were put in place to promote a high level of safety where these dangerous goods are stored or handled. These rules are outlined in AS4326-2008.

Indoor Oxidising Agent Storage

Features of our range of oxidising agent safety cabinets include; self-closing doors and, built in vents with flash arrestors, spill containment sump with drain and a yellow gloss lead-free epoxy/polyester powder-coat finish.

Construction: WSSA Indoor Oxidising Agent Storage Cabinets come in 30, 60, 100, 160, and 250 litre capacities are All-Australian Made and built for Australian conditions. All our Indoor Oxidising Agent Storage Cabinets meet and fully comply with AS4326-2008 – The Storage and Handling of Oxidising Agents.

\
They are built with a double wall construction integrated with a 40 mm thermal barrier. They also feature vent ports with integral flash arrestors that are fitted on each side of the cabinet.
\
Inside all our Indoor Oxidising Agent Storage Cabinets are two shelves, one is a fixed base shelf and the other is an adjustable one. The shelves of our cabinets are built using galvanised steel that adds to improving its overall structural integrity. The innate strength of the material used in our shelving can sufficiently handle the maximum load the cabinet is rated for, at all times.
\
Our Indoor Oxidising Agent Storage Cabinets features self-closing, non-lockable doors that are fitted with adjustable hydraulic closure that automatically releases itself in the event pressure builds up in the cabinet. This design is incorporated in accordance with AS4326-2008, section 4.8.3.
\
Our cabinets also feature adjustable feet that you can use to level the cabinet. This ensures that the cabinet would remain stable and properly levelled in moderately uneven surfaces.
\
The use of UV stabilised thermosetting polyester powder coat finish, also provides the best resistance against corrosion than any other commercially available finish options. Also, it makes it easier to clean and maintain the cabinet with powder coating. Further, it also keeps the superstructure of the cabinet free from oxidation, which prevents rust from forming on its primary steel structure.
\
Our 30L and 60L cabinets include 1 self-closing door and our 100L, 160L, and 250L cabinets, on the other hand, feature 2 self-closing, non-lockable doors.
\
The superstructure of our Indoor Oxidising Agent Storage Cabinets is made up of super sturdy materials which will not melt in temperatures below 850 degrees Celsius. Of course, this does not include the cabinet’s seals and gaskets.
\
Also integrated in our line of Indoor Oxidising Agent Storage Cabinets is a suspended perforated floor and spill containment sump with drain. The sump is specifically designed to contain any spillage of materials coming from the contents of the cabinet.
\
Our cabinets are finished and sealed with highly durable UV stabilised thermosetting polyester powder coat finish. The advantage of powder coating over conventional paint is that it makes the finish of the cabinet more durable than just paint.
\
Another safety feature incorporated in our storage cabinets is a grounding connector. The grounding connector is built in on the outside panel, which makes it easy for earthing. This feature prevents static build up or migrating electrical discharges, thus preventing accidents that might cause the cabinets’ contents to ignite and cause fires.

And also to comply with stringent Australian Standards, safety and warning signage are also put in place.

Businesses that handle and store oxidising agents should note that our line of Oxidising Agent Storage Cabinets are built for indoor use. Do note however that these line of storage cabinets are not configured and are not advised to be used to store Ammonium Nitrate.

AS4326-2008 clearly outlines the proper methods for storing and handling oxidising agents. All cabinets and stores that store oxidants must strictly comply with the Australian Dangerous Goods Code as outlined in this Australian Standard.

Do note that under this rule, each cabinet must not exceed the permitted amount of oxidising agent. Also, the cabinets should be made in such a way to ensure that their contents are well-secured from any contamination from the outside that may cause risks of dangerous reaction.

Tailgate Delivery Terms and Conditions

Any additional handling or manoeuvring to get the items in to position that requires specialised equipment, such as a tailgated truck or a truck mounted forklift, is not covered by any free freight offers.

For those who are new to freight, a tailgate truck (also known as a tail-lift truck or hydraulic truck) has a rear platform which can be lowered to the ground for convenience when unloading heavy goods.  This is a requirement for unloading freight over 30kg when a forklift is not available on site to unload the delivery vehicle.  Carriers class this as a specialised delivery service, and charge a premium for tailgate deliveries.

Tailgate delivery is to the front door, carport, or closest practical delivery point as deemed by the driver. There must be reasonable vehicle access with height clearance.

Tailgate shipping adds an extra $135 + gst to shipping fees during checkout to cover costs.

NOTE: Selecting the WRONG answer in regards to tailgate shipping means the carrier may be unable to unload your items and may need to re-deliver it.  The Customer will be liable for any further charges for re-delivery should this occur.  Should you have questions or if you are unsure please contact us first.
