Longevity: Ensuring Safety Solutions Stand the Test of Time

Longevity in dangerous goods storage refers to the durability and long-lasting performance of products designed to secure hazardous materials.

For businesses, this means investing in storage solutions to fulfil urgent safety needs and provide long-term protection. Durable safety storage eliminates the need for regular replacements, lowering long-term expenses and reducing disruptions to operations.

Long-Term Benefits of Safety Storage for Businesses

  1. Cost Effectiveness: Investing in safety storage is essential for any business’s risk management strategy and workplace safety. However, frequent replacements or repairs can strain budgets. Long-lasting products minimise these costs, providing better value for money.
  2. Durability: Our products endure daily wear, temperature fluctuations, and exposure to harsh substances.
  3. Safety Compliance and Peace of Mind: Safety regulations evolve, and businesses must adapt. A storage solution that remains compliant over time ensures ongoing adherence to standards. It also gives safety managers peace of mind knowing they won’t face sudden compliance gaps.
  4. Operational Continuity: Imagine a chemical spill emergency, and your safety cabinets fail due to rust or degradation. Long-lasting solutions prevent such disruptions, ensuring that critical safety measures remain intact when needed.
  5. Reduced Environmental Impact: Constantly replacing equipment contributes to waste. Durable solutions reduce the environmental footprint by minimising disposal and manufacturing processes.
  6. Reputation and Trust: Businesses prioritising longevity demonstrate commitment to safety and reliability. Clients, employees, and stakeholders trust companies that invest in durable safety solutions.

Longevity and durability safeguard lives, assets, and reputations, when you choose reliable storage solutions that stand the test of time.

Quality Construction: The Backbone of Durability

WSSA does not compromise on quality when it comes to reliable storage solutions. Our dedication to longevity begins with attentive workmanship and high-quality materials. Let’s look at the factors that contribute to our goods’ durability:

1. Heavy-Duty Galvanised Steel

WSSA’s durable outdoor safety cabinets are crafted from heavy-duty galvanised steel. This material offers exceptional strength, corrosion resistance, and structural integrity. Whether it’s flammable liquids or hazardous chemicals, our steel-based products withstand the rigours of industrial environments.

2. Built-In Spill Containment Sump

Safety isn’t just about preventing accidents; it’s about containing them in the event they occur. Our products feature spill containment sump with drain. It acts as a secondary barrier, capturing spills and leaks, and preventing them from spreading and causing harm.

3. Protective Coatings

We take coatings seriously. Our products undergo a meticulous finishing process:

  • High Build 2-Pack Epoxy Primer: This primer provides excellent adhesion and corrosion resistance. It creates a solid foundation for subsequent layers.
  • Semi-Gloss 2-Pack Polyurethane Yellow Top Coat: The vibrant yellow colour used in the outdoor cabinet range isn’t just for aesthetics—it enhances visibility and safety. The polyurethane topcoat adds durability, UV resistance, and chemical protection.
  • UV-Stabilised High Gloss Powder Coat Finish: Our powder coat finish ensures longevity by resisting fading, chipping, and discolouration from sunlight exposure.

Cost Efficiency: The Wise Investment in Durability

WSSA’s durable safety storage solutions provide businesses with long-term cost efficiency. They reduce replacements and repairs due to their ability to withstand daily use and harsh environmental conditions.

By choosing equipment made of robust materials, our products require less maintenance and provide sustained performance. This reduces the need for frequent servicing, saving both time and money. Their built-in spill containment sumps also help prevent costly cleanups and environmental fines, contributing to overall cost savings.

Moreover, consistent compliance with Australian Standards ensures businesses avoid penalties and costly downtime associated with non-compliance issues. Product longevity means industries can allocate resources more efficiently, focusing on growth and other critical areas rather than on constant equipment replacement and maintenance.

Maintenance Tips: Extending the Lifespan of Your Safety Storage Solutions

Investing in durable safety storage solutions is wise, but adequate maintenance is crucial to ensure longevity. Here are practical tips to help you extend the service span of your safety cabinets and storage units:

1. Regular Inspections

  • Scheduled Check-Ups: Set a regular inspection schedule. Examine your storage units for signs of wear, rust, or damage. Catching issues early allows for timely repairs or replacement.
  • Inspect Seals and Gaskets: Inspect door seals and gaskets as these components are important in preventing leaks and spills. Replace any damaged or worn-out seals immediately.
  • Spill Management: Regularly check and clean built-in spill containment bunds to prevent chemical buildup and potential damage to the storage unit and surrounding environment.

2. Cleanliness Matters

  • Keep It Clean: Regularly clean the internal and exterior surfaces. Remove dust, debris, and any spilled substances. Use mild detergents and avoid using abrasive cleaners that could potentially damage coatings.
  • Avoid Harsh Chemicals: Ensure containers are properly sealed if you store chemicals. Avoid spills or leaks that can corrode steel or coatings.

3. Climate Control

  • Temperature and Humidity: Store safety solutions in a controlled environment. Extreme temperatures and high humidity can accelerate corrosion. Avoid placing storage solutions near heat sources or in direct sunlight.
  • Ventilation: Adequate ventilation prevents moisture buildup. Proper airflow reduces the risk of the formation of rust and mould.

4. Proper Loading and Handling

  • Proper Use: Ensure that all users are trained on the correct use of the storage solutions. Avoid overloading and mishandling, which can cause unnecessary stress and damage.
  • Weight Limits: Follow specific weight limits set by the manufacturer. Overloading cabinets can strain hinges, doors, and shelves.
  • Handle with Care: Open and close doors gently. Slamming them can weaken hinges and affect their overall structure.

 5. Repainting and Touch-Ups

  • Monitor Coatings: Keep an eye on their protective coatings. Consider repainting if you notice scratches, chips, or fading. Coatings are used not just for cosmetic reasons, but also to extend the service life of your equipment and provide ongoing protection.
  • Use Manufacturer-Approved Paints: Use only paints recommended by the manufacturer to maintain their original quality and adhere properly.

By adhering to these guidelines, you can guarantee longevity in workplace safety. Remember that secure storage solutions are an investment. Regular maintenance extends their lifespan and assures continued compliance and peace of mind.

Tailgate Delivery Terms and Conditions

Any additional handling or manoeuvring to get the items in to position that requires specialised equipment, such as a tailgated truck or a truck mounted forklift, is not covered by any free freight offers.

For those who are new to freight, a tailgate truck (also known as a tail-lift truck or hydraulic truck) has a rear platform which can be lowered to the ground for convenience when unloading heavy goods.  This is a requirement for unloading freight over 30kg when a forklift is not available on site to unload the delivery vehicle.  Carriers class this as a specialised delivery service, and charge a premium for tailgate deliveries.

Tailgate delivery is to the front door, carport, or closest practical delivery point as deemed by the driver. There must be reasonable vehicle access with height clearance.

Tailgate shipping adds an extra $135 + gst to shipping fees during checkout to cover costs.

NOTE: Selecting the WRONG answer in regards to tailgate shipping means the carrier may be unable to unload your items and may need to re-deliver it.  The Customer will be liable for any further charges for re-delivery should this occur.  Should you have questions or if you are unsure please contact us first.
