What To Know About A Collapsible Bund

Using a collapsible bund can change how you deal with spill protection and safety in your workplace or on-site. These products are more mobile than their parent products, allowing them to be easily placed or stowed away when not used. As a result, these are better suited to mobile business operations that need solutions on the go or spaces that do not consistently store chemicals or liquids but may still need protection.

What Is The Product?

Otherwise known as a collapsible spill berm, portable product options like these are flexible and cost-effective, ensuring that you can catch and manage potential spills. This model can be used for temporary or permanent spill containment in indoor or outdoor environments. Due to their maneuverable and lightweight design, these portable models are most commonly used in remote sites and come in handy in any permanent business setting as emergency replacements. They are particularly popular on mining, oil and gas, and industrial work sites, which may move work sites seasonally or more often.

How Are They Manufactured?

Manufactured with heavy-duty PVC or state-of-the-art geomembrane, collapsible bunds offer a range of features. These products are a UV-resistant containment option suitable for extreme temperatures and resistant to tears and punctures. These durable designs can contain many substances, boasting a collapsible portable bunding that can be used as a drive-over option to reduce delays around a site. With fast deployment and the ability to be folded up when not in use, they are low-maintenance options for you to use easily. They also boast self-extinguishing, fire-retardant properties that help to contain flammable materials.

What Can You Use These For?

Almost any chemical container, including ISO tanks, IBCs and drums, can be protected from spillage by deploying a portable collapsible catchment option. Vehicles and equipment, including heavy machinery, trucks and cars, can also be parked on the model without damage. This allows staff to carry out washdowns, servicing, repairs, re-fueling and other necessary operations with spill protection. By preventing spillage of diesel, petrol and oil, staff are avoiding the contamination of the natural environment. They also minimise the risk of fire or explosion with these flammable liquids. Without the deployment of collapsible bunding, it would be difficult to contain a leak or spill if it occurred in this environment.

A collapsible bund option is the easiest way to contain spills around the work site and ensure that everyone’s safety is the main concern. Stopping spills and ensuring no environmental contamination are essential items around a work site. Contact us today to find out more about these items.

Tailgate Delivery Terms and Conditions

Any additional handling or manoeuvring to get the items in to position that requires specialised equipment, such as a tailgated truck or a truck mounted forklift, is not covered by any free freight offers.

For those who are new to freight, a tailgate truck (also known as a tail-lift truck or hydraulic truck) has a rear platform which can be lowered to the ground for convenience when unloading heavy goods.  This is a requirement for unloading freight over 30kg when a forklift is not available on site to unload the delivery vehicle.  Carriers class this as a specialised delivery service, and charge a premium for tailgate deliveries.

Tailgate delivery is to the front door, carport, or closest practical delivery point as deemed by the driver. There must be reasonable vehicle access with height clearance.

Tailgate shipping adds an extra $135 + gst to shipping fees during checkout to cover costs.

NOTE: Selecting the WRONG answer in regards to tailgate shipping means the carrier may be unable to unload your items and may need to re-deliver it.  The Customer will be liable for any further charges for re-delivery should this occur.  Should you have questions or if you are unsure please contact us first.
