The Benefits Of Bunded Pallets by WSSA

The Benefits Of Bunded Pallets

Bunded pallets from Wholesale Safety Storage are a crucial component of safe chemical and liquid storage. Drums, tanks, and other compact containers used to hold potentially hazardous substances must always be placed on top of the bunded pallet.

A bunded pallet is a platform that containers are placed on, which sits above a liquid-tight sump designed to capture any leaks or spillages. These pallets are sometimes referred to as spill containment pallets or spill trays.

Any leaks or spills will be gathered in the bunded area of the pallet, which is intended to be maintained beneath your fuel/oil drum or other liquid chemical storage units. This will prevent site/personnel contamination and speed up the cleanup process.

Simple to clean: Pallets used for storing dangerous goods are likely to require regular cleaning due to the nature of spill control. Pallets for spill containment made of polyethylene feature moisture-resistant, heat-sealed surfaces. Therefore, they may be properly cleaned with steam or other inexpensive techniques. So, regardless of how high the product’s hygiene standards are, polyethylene pallets can be reused repeatedly without posing a sanitary risk.

Time-saving: Although businesses try to avoid hazardous goods spilling while being stored, accidents nonetheless can happen.  These spills are extraordinarily challenging and time-consuming to safely clean when conventional pallets are used. Additionally, this is risky and expensive and can put workers or others in danger. However, using spill containment pallets makes cleaning up the problem much simpler because they automatically gather the liquids.

Employee Safety: this is a constant concern for businesses that frequently store hazardous chemicals due to the potential for spills or leaks. This risk increases dramatically if wooden pallets that aren’t made for spill containment are used. However, you can stop any liquid from leaking by using the right spill containment pallets, sparing your staff from having to clean up the mess or handle contaminated substances.

Durability: The premium polyethylene used to create spill containment pallets is resistant to moisture, most chemicals, contaminated dust, and mold. This means they can maintain their shape over time and are resistant to deformation. Since they can be used for many years if maintained correctly, offering outstanding value for the money.

As previously stated, using our bunded pallets benefits your company. It reduces costs and better safeguards your personnel and goods. The additional protection that these products provide for the environment, however, is yet another edge.

Tailgate Delivery Terms and Conditions

Any additional handling or manoeuvring to get the items in to position that requires specialised equipment, such as a tailgated truck or a truck mounted forklift, is not covered by any free freight offers.

For those who are new to freight, a tailgate truck (also known as a tail-lift truck or hydraulic truck) has a rear platform which can be lowered to the ground for convenience when unloading heavy goods.  This is a requirement for unloading freight over 30kg when a forklift is not available on site to unload the delivery vehicle.  Carriers class this as a specialised delivery service, and charge a premium for tailgate deliveries.

Tailgate delivery is to the front door, carport, or closest practical delivery point as deemed by the driver. There must be reasonable vehicle access with height clearance.

Tailgate shipping adds an extra $135 + gst to shipping fees during checkout to cover costs.

NOTE: Selecting the WRONG answer in regards to tailgate shipping means the carrier may be unable to unload your items and may need to re-deliver it.  The Customer will be liable for any further charges for re-delivery should this occur.  Should you have questions or if you are unsure please contact us first.
