Choosing the Chemical Spill Containment and Response Kit for Your Needs by Wholesale Safety Storage Australia

Choosing the Chemical Spill Containment and Response Kit for Your Needs

Spills and leaks will happen, and your company needs to be prepared to contain liquids that are hazardous to health and the environment. Wholesale Safety Storage Australia offers a spill response kit for the types of incidences that will occur at your facility. We are locally owned and operated and have distribution centres throughout Australia to quickly provide you with products that are compliant with our codes and regulations. How to Choose the Right Chemical Spill Kit The first step in deciding which chemical spill kit is right for you is to determine what types of liquids you use at your facility. Water-based solutions and oil-based products have different chemical and physical properties which affect how they are absorbed. Corrosive chemicals such as acids and bases and hazardous materials also need special consideration. The size of the possible spill is determined by assessing your largest holding tanks and assuming full capacity. You can keep in mind that completely absorbing a spill may not be necessary or even possible. The booms in the kits surround and channel liquids for chemical spill containment, and then they can be recovered using vacuum pumps. Absorbent materials can be used to soak up the remainder of the spill. The physical plant of your facility needs to be considered to determine where you can store kits. Some companies can stockpile kits where the spills are most likely to occur, but other plants must store kits in a location that is away from everyday activities. If you need to house your spill response kit away from potential spills, portability is a vital consideration. Our kits contain minimal PPE because your employees need equipment that is geared to their size. We suggest adding PPE suits to your spill response team to avoid wasting time as your employees find appropriate gear for the job. Our kits come with containers for easy storage and access, but the bins in which the kits arrive are reusable. If you already have a storage cabinet or a container from a previously used kit, we can provide chemical spill containment and absorbent materials to restock it. Types of Response Kits Our general-purpose chemical spill kit absorbs a variety of liquids such as fuels, oil, water-based solutions, blood, paint, acids and bases and range from 25-247 litre absorbing capacity and substantial spills can be handled through spill containment. Hospitals, commercial kitchens, laundries, and many types of workshops will find a universal kit best suits their needs. We have focused other kits to specific needs such as indoor and outdoor fuel spills, Hazchem, lab and healthcare, and marine applications. If you have particular hazards such as mercury spills, cytotoxins or biohazards or desire organic standards, we have the kits you need. If you still have questions about which spill containment kit is right for your business, contact Wholesale Safety Storage Australia, and our knowledgeable staff can help you. We can quickly and safely deliver your chemical spill kit because our products are made in Australia to our high standards.

Tailgate Delivery Terms and Conditions

Any additional handling or manoeuvring to get the items in to position that requires specialised equipment, such as a tailgated truck or a truck mounted forklift, is not covered by any free freight offers.

For those who are new to freight, a tailgate truck (also known as a tail-lift truck or hydraulic truck) has a rear platform which can be lowered to the ground for convenience when unloading heavy goods.  This is a requirement for unloading freight over 30kg when a forklift is not available on site to unload the delivery vehicle.  Carriers class this as a specialised delivery service, and charge a premium for tailgate deliveries.

Tailgate delivery is to the front door, carport, or closest practical delivery point as deemed by the driver. There must be reasonable vehicle access with height clearance.

Tailgate shipping adds an extra $135 + gst to shipping fees during checkout to cover costs.

NOTE: Selecting the WRONG answer in regards to tailgate shipping means the carrier may be unable to unload your items and may need to re-deliver it.  The Customer will be liable for any further charges for re-delivery should this occur.  Should you have questions or if you are unsure please contact us first.
